Social media posts as well as blogs can increase viewers/readers of your products, services, ideas, and overall content, and increase traffic to your website. In this blog post, we’ll offer helpful suggestions for what to post on social media: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest.
.
The purpose of posting on social media is to keep your content fresh, relevant, varied and interesting to readers. Post photos, industry tips, your expertise, questions and personal ideas. Don’t just link to outside articles or resources all the time. After a while, little to no company news starts sounding like white noise to readers and readers may disengage from what you are writing and posting.
.
You want to keep readers engaged in the content. You want them to become fans. True fans want behind the scenes photos, thoughts, comments, etc. Why would a fan follow your brand’s content if everything you post there is accessible elsewhere? Consider releasing specific content or specials for your followers. What photos, company updates, specials, upcoming events, or other specific detailed content would you like to share to your audience this month?
.
Images on social media get more engagement than links. Images on your website have a higher chance of being shared than anything else. Note: It is best to post at least 3 times per week on each social media platform; that is generally a great start.
.
Also, see this resource from Forbes. It lists 100 ideas for your social media posts. The COGO Interactive team uses these tips for several of their social media clients. Some tips include:
.
– Use humorous, inspiring or motivational quotes.
– Post a link to an old blog post. There’s nothing wrong with recycling.
– Ask for input on your products.
– Share a book recommendation your fans or followers would appreciate.
– A day in the life post: give a recap of a typical day in the life of a graphic designer, author, CEO.
– Recommend someone else to follow on social media.
– Post a video: share a video review, ask your social media followers to submit their own video testimonials, or find a cute or inspirational video and promote it to your fans or followers.
– Profile an employee: let your followers know they’re dealing with real people. If you have employee bios on your site, post a link to help your fans get to know the brains behind your company.
– Find out what your competitors are sharing, and do it better: An easy way to do this is by using a tool like Social Crawlytics.
– Find a relevant question on Quora and answer it on social media.
.
Hopefully the resources and links above will keep you inspired, and not stuck on what to post on social media.
