If you have yet to achieve success with your Facebook marketing campaign, there are steps you can take in the near future to change your outcome for the better. Here are five ideas to consider:

1. Slow down. There are so many things you can do on Facebook to market your business that you may get ahead of yourself. Take a step back and focus your time and attention on one area of Facebook. For example, you may want to put all your resources into learning more about Facebook advertising.

2. Save time with a third party platform. If you are using Facebook it is likely that you are using other social media services, such as Twitter and LinkedIn, as well. Rather than sign into each site to manage your content distribution, use a platform like Hootsuite. This allows you to publish and distribute all your content from a centralized location. Not only will this save you time, but it will keep you more organized.

3. Follow the leader. You don’t want to copy your competition’s exact Facebook marketing plan, but don’t be shy about spying on them from time to time. What are they doing that you like? What are they doing that you can do better? This one step may be more than enough for you to formulate a successful strategy.

4. Experiment with what and when you post. When doing so, answer the following questions:

  • How often should you update your Facebook page?
  • What type of audience are you targeting?
  • When is the best time of the day and day of the week to post?
  • What types of posts are garnering the most attention?

This is a trial and error process, but over time, as you analyze the data, you will begin to learn more about what and when to post.

5. Facebook Insights is your friend. With Facebook Insights data, you may be surprised at how much you can learn. From how your audience responded to a particular piece of content to which status updates performed the best, one look at this data may change your perception of Facebook forever.

What are your thoughts on implementing one or more of the ideas above? Doing so could help you achieve greater success with your Facebook marketing campaign.
